This Privacy Policy explains how the HelpTools browser extension and the website at helptools.org ("HelpTools", "we", "us") collect, use, and protect information. By installing or using HelpTools, you agree to this policy.

1. Summary

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not collect your browsing history.
• We only process the product reviews you choose to analyze.
• You never enter or store any third-party AI API keys.

2. Information we process

2.1 Review and product content

When you tap "Analyze reviews" on a Lazada or Shopee product page, the extension reads publicly visible review text, star ratings, and basic product information (such as the product URL and title) on that page and sends it to our secure backend to generate an AI summary. This content is processed to produce your result and to enforce usage limits.

2.2 Installation identifier

To operate the free daily limit and PRO entitlements, the extension generates an anonymous installation token that is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and sent with requests to our backend. This token is not linked to your name or email.

2.3 License information

If you purchase PRO, checkout and billing are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We receive your license key and subscription status to unlock PRO features. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

2.4 Media downloads

The "Download media" feature fetches product images and videos directly in your browser and packages them into a ZIP file on your device. Media files are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.

2.5 Technical logs

Our backend keeps minimal, short-lived technical logs (such as request timestamps and error information) to operate the service securely and prevent abuse.

3. How we use information

• To generate AI review analyses you request.
• To enforce free-tier limits and unlock PRO features.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.
• To provide customer support when you contact us.

4. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate HelpTools:

• OpenAI — to generate review summaries from the review text you submit.
• Lemon Squeezy — to process PRO purchases and manage licenses.
• Cloudflare — to deliver and secure our network traffic.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms.

5. Data retention

Saved analyses are available in the extension for up to 24 hours and may be retained on our backend for a limited period to provide history and improve reliability. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. You can request deletion of data associated with your installation token by contacting us.

6. Data security

Traffic between the extension and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process.

7. Your rights

8. Children

HelpTools is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

9. Changes to this policy
